Kids and Tomato
Make a marinara. Use fresh or canned tomatoes and make a rich sauce to use in a pasta dish or on a homemade pizza. Try bite-sized tomatoes. The kids might find the size and sweetness of a grape or cherry tomato more appealing than a larger tomato. Serve them alone or with fresh mozzarella balls topped with olive oil, salt and pepper. Make tomato soup. Kids may prefer the warm soup and smooth consistency to a fresh tomato. Make a fresh salsa. Mix tomatoes with fresh onion, cilantro, garlic, peppers, lime, salt and pepper for a delicious and nutritious salsa.
